2014 Triumph Tiger Explorer XC ABS

With a whole pack of extras and neat touches the Tiger Explorer XC has an extra rugged style.

All its basics have been thoroughly proven on the Tiger Explorer. Like the 1215cc three-cylinder engine with its broad spread of torque, shaft drive, the long fuel range. Then there’s the class-leading handling and the genuine off-road ability.

You still get the high levels of sophisticated rider aids too, like switchable ABS, traction control and cruise control.

On top of all this you get unique spoked wheels for added off-road capability and other equipment such as a sump guard, fog lights, and hand guards to add to your adventure.

    Standard Features May Include:

    Engine

Like the Explorer, the Tiger Explorer XC gets our big, proven 1215cc three-cylinder engine. Built with modern technology to be strong, dependable and have the low maintenance levels you need on long adventures. You can get plenty of torque and power from the Tiger Explorer XC, a hefty 137PS and 121Nm. And, not just that, it’s useable torque low down in the rev range where you need it.

    Double Overhead Cams

Double overhead camshafts operate the four valves per cylinder for an engine that does what it was made to do even when the bike is fully loaded with rider, passenger, a full complement of luggage and facing a steep mountain climb.

    Shaft Drive

We designed a rugged transmission comprising of a strong six-speed gearbox and an exceptionally tough shaft final drive for the Tiger Explorer XC. This gives you smooth power delivery yet is capable of dealing with the shocks and knocks it can face off-road. And, it hardly needs any maintenance, so you can get on with your ride without worrying about it.

    Ride-By-Wire

Designed to be as tough as the rest of the Tiger Explorer XC, the fuel injection is controlled by a ride-by-wire throttle system using computer control to give you the torque you need in the most efficient, predictable way.

    Frame

We built the tubular steel frame of the Tiger Explorer in the same style as other Triumphs. But it`s made extra tough to deal with the stresses of off-road riding and on the road too, where you can load the Tiger Explorer heavily and still ride at high speeds or on badly maintained back roads in full control and comfort.

    Suspension

The suspension on the Tiger Explorer is built to cope with any kind of riding condition. We used tough 46mm forks at the front with an extended 190mm of travel, ideal for rough roads and long distance comfort. And at the rear, the single shock provides 194mm of travel and features a hydraulic remote preload adjuster and adjustable rebound damping.

    Brakes

Braking is looked after by a pair of 4-piston callipers and twin 305mm discs at the front backed up by a single rear disc, all controlled by our advanced, switchable electronic ABS system.

    Wheels and Tires

The aluminium rim, wire-spoke wheels on the Tiger Explorer XC are lightweight and highly resilient, 17 inches diameter at the rear and 19 inches at the front, and come fitted with tubeless tires.

    Handling

The Tiger Explorer is such an easy, natural handling bike. Be it low speed corners or fast sweepers, the Explorer shows outstanding handling manners. The wheelbase is long at 1530mm so you have plenty of room on board and excellent stability.

2015 Triumph Speed Triple R ABS

The purest, hardest performing and most rewarding naked sports motorcycle available today. We took the Speed Triple, the world`s first and best factory streetfighter with its head-turning, angry style and its 135PS three-cylinder engine. Then added the best components the motorcycle industry can offer, from Öhlins, Pirelli and Brembo. A variety of exquisitely designed accessories complete the R transformation – fly screen, belly pan and seat cowl, while the Diablo Red radiator shrouds further boast of the R’s pedigree.

The result is the Speed Triple R, cutting edge real world performance to thrill the most committed rider.

Based on the already high performing and agile Speed Triple. The R gives you sharper steering and even better feedback for the most intense, tactile and satisfying ride from any Triumph ever made.

The Speed Triple never tried to hide what it was, a cutting edge sports bike with performance honed for the street. But the R screams it.

    Features May Include:
    • Performance

The engine is the same muscle-packed 1050cc triple that powers the Speed Triple. And it delivers a huge punch. But every real rider knows, the key to its real world performance is the broad spread of torque and instant throttle response.

With 135PS maximum there’s enough high-end performance to satisfy you on a serious track day. Then there’s the Speed Triple R’s 111Nm of peak torque, with lots more thrust on tap lower down the rev range no matter what the gear and a seemingly endless flow of power that`s predictable and easy to use.

    • Configuration

We matched the transmission carefully to the engine, with six ratios in the gearbox to make sure there`s always one that`s perfect at any moment of your ride. While the wet, multi-plate clutch has a lightweight and predictable lever action to make fast getaways easy and town riding effortless.

    • Exhaust

The twin silencers, wrapped in black exhaust heat shields, sit beneath the short, stubby tail section of the Speed Triple R and leave the rear wheel fully exposed on the right by the cool, single-sided swingarm.

    • Suspension

Choosing the suspension wasn`t just a case of looking for the best and bolting it on.

Extensive testing by our own and Öhlins highly experienced development riders on road and track means the internals were developed specifically for Triumph and the Speed Triple R.

    • Frame

The frame is the same doubled-tube, twin spar design recognisable from the 1997 model. Although the current version was updated in 2011, so it now uses the engine as a crucial frame component, making the chassis stiffer and lighter for a more focussed ride.

    • Brakes

We’ve added Brembo Monobloc callipers to the R for 5 per cent more stopping power than the standard Speed Triple`s Brembos. And their single-piece construction helps reduce distortion at extreme pressures for more accurate feedback.

    • ABS

The four piston, radially mounted Brembo front callipers, with optional electronic ABS make 100 calculations per second to prevent wheel lock up at either end.

    • Immobiliser

We’ve made sure your bike is protected by a coded key immobiliser system, should your Speed Triple R attract the wrong kind of attention. It disables the ignition if it detects an attempt to turn or force the ignition switch without the presence of the electronically coded correct key.

    • Instruments and Computer

We added all the instrumentation a rider needs. Including programmable gear change lights, service interval reminder, lap timer, trip computer and fuel gauge.
