Vehicle Description
1951 mercury Monterey Coupe New for Mercury in 1951, a new grille that was integrated with the signal lights appeared in 1951. Vertical taillights replaced the horizontal type found on the 1949 and 1950 Mercurys. New, lower rear quarter panel trim made the wraparound bumper appear to extend even further than before. Chrome gravel shields and rocker panels, a vinyl or canvas roof and customer interior were standard on the Monterey coupe. Great looking, great running, check and check. There is nothing not to like on this 1951 Monterey Coupe. Great colors, Coventry Green with a contrasting white top with wide white wall tires just complete this 1951 icon. Powered by 255 CI flathead V-8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive and just a pleasure to drive. Factory radio, heater, clock, windshield wipers, lights, and turn signals all are operational. Truly a turnkey 1951.
